There's a difference between fair game and playing games

The celebrated quote of William Shakespeare “The world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.....” says a lot about the massive platform called life. The term game spurs different emotions at various stages of life. In the very childhood, the thought of engaging in a game is perpetual bliss. A child is never tired to dedicate time to his favourite game. The choice of games is ample too. Most importantly the player has out-and-out liberty to play or not to play the game. This autonomy to prioritise the aspect of choosing is priceless!

With the advance to the later stages in life, neither the game nor its composition remains as simple. The form of the game changes too. It gets intricately involved with the mainstream chores of life and livelihood. For example, a child studying in class 5 is scheduled to take various examinations in school. In many cases, the year-round concern solely revolves around exams and marks. This is a game too. Just that a birds-eye view is required to make it clear. Higher classes and studies bring in major up to the minute elements in the playing platform. Not only school exams but various external tests to facilitate the entrance in prestigious colleges and institutions require the players to mold themselves in a certain pattern to master the art of cracking the test. By the time the game is not at all simple, it has added to its charm layers of hardship and complexities. The adulthood games not only demand to play one’s own part but a major part of the proceedings requires one to observe the strategies of the opposite player. In the era of massive competition to stay strong and keep working to reach the destination is the artistry part of science!

Adulthood introduces to us various kinds of persons. The first duel against someone with a completely different personality might be devastating but it raises the curtain to a diverse field. Thus the lessons of life get more webbed. We all are left to conquer the battle within and surely against another party all by ourselves. One’s strategy to play might be lined with values and fairness but it is foolish to expect the same from the opposite party. The reason is simple person A’s strategies are designed and influenced a lot by the circumstances he travels through. Person B’s circumstances are definite to be different. One might be totally determined to win the game at any cost. He might be absolutely peaceful about defeating the opponent by adopting unfair norms. The world is such.

Amidst all the unfairness and challenges the one with a heart of gold might have to face numerous provocations, but it must be remembered that he will always be acknowledged as a fair person. The difference between fair play and unfair play shall always be accounted for somewhere, someday! Thus playing the game is one thing and conducting it via fair norms is another.
