APEX LEGENDS - LEGENDS AND WEAPONS.

Respawn Entertainment released their Battle Royale game APEX LEGENDS on 4th February 2019, which has already garnered the highest viewership on Twitch and also has reportedly gained a million players within the first 8 hours, 2.5 million in 24 hours and 10 million in 72 hours.
The feature that puts APEX LEGENDS apart from the other Battle Royale games like PUBG, Fortnite is that players have to choose ‘legends’ or characters, similar to games like Overwatch, Paladins. Every ‘legend’ has their own unique abilities, pros and cons that can be used to enhance and support your Squadmates.
Legend Summary-

Presently, the game offers eight legends, six of which can be used right from the start. You’ll either have to grind or pay for the remaining tow characters. The only thing that differentiates the Legends are their respective abilities. Though there are classes ( tanks, healers, supports), all the characters possess the same basic stats.
Lifeline
Lifeline is the designated battlefield medic in APEX LEGENDS. Her skill is on the defensive side of the spectrum. She can heal faster, revive faster and also has a healing drone that can heal the whole squad simultaneously. Lifeline’s ultimate ability summons a supply drop that contains high-tier armor, shields and medikits, all in hand to support the team in a firefight.
Bangalore
If you’re searching for a classic frontline damage dealer then Bangalore should be your go-to Legend. Her ultimate ability is calling an artillery strike that deals damage as well as disorientate your enemies. Her passive grants her a slight mobility boost after taking damage and also has smoke grenades in her arsenal that are handy while executing a squad maneuvers.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar is the typical tank character. His skills are shield based. His passive gives him down-the-sights shield, his active skill is a zone shield and his ultimate calls a missile barrage similar to that of Bangalore. Gibraltar possesses a good blend of defensive and offensive skills making him suitable for any team composition.
Bloodhound
Bloodhound is a unique legend who may not be suitable for everyone’s playing style. His abilities include tracking enemies while his ultimate skill grants him faster movement speed and increased tracking sense that allows him to track and pinpoint enemies faster and more effectively.
Pathfinder
Pathfinder is a very agile legend thanks to his zipline based skills. He can close gaps effectively with his grappling hook and can get the team out of sticky situations with his portable Zipline.
Wraith
Wraith is your typical Flank or Assassin character. Her skills include creating two-way portals and can render herself invisible for a short duration, making it possible for her to get in and out of fights with relative ease.
Caustic
Caustic has great crowd control due to his gas-heavy zones balancing his parameters over not-so-good mobility . However, this toxic legend is not free and players have to either grind or pay to access this character.
Mirage
Mirage is also the other character who is not free. Though his skills allow him to create his own duplicates to trick the enemy into an ambush or as an distraction.

In-Game Movement-

In general, Battle Royale games need a good share of movement skills , not for the sake of only mobility but to evade bullets as well. Firstly, APEX LEGENDS has interesting sliding mechanism that opens up a lot of avenues in implementing it. While travelling downhill, simply pressing CTRL grants you quite a speed boost . Also this makes you a smaller and faster target which is hard to aim. There are more movement related things to talk about but we will get to it in the later blogs.
Teamwork-

APEX LEGENDS is more squad oriented battle royale compared to PUBG and Fortnite. With single click pings for point of interest and double click pings for enemy locations. Players can communicate without using voice chat thus making gameplay much simpler and more effective.
